Walking Club 26 June

Mimi, Odette, Linda, Jean, Marilyn & Ken
Artist at work or not LOL
On sat June 26th we went to Crescent Beach.  We took the 20 bus to Broadway Station caught 99 to Cambie Street to the Canada line and then to Bridgeport Station where we caught the 35l to Crescent Beach (a note every 2nd bus goes to Crescent Beach). We got off the bus 2 blocks away and walked to and along the beach.  From there we went to the small village of Crescent Beach, had coffee and Italian cookies at Martini's gelato and coffee. We walked back to and along the beach walk. Afterward made our way back to the bus stop.
There were 6 of us that included Mimi, Jean, Odette,Marilyn, Linda, and Ken

Crescent Beach
The village of Crescent Beach is located just south of the mouth of the 'Nicomekl', where a bend in the river estuary reveals a marina that provides shelter for hundreds of boats. Next door, the nature preserve of 'Blackie's Spit' hosts dozens of species of resident and migratory birds. Back to Beaches which may be observed from natural blinds atop the surrounding dyke's trails.
Amongst all the communities in the lower mainland, Crescent Beach has yielded the least of its classic charm to the pressures of time. Crescent Beach has maintained it's identity through a persistent rejection of rezoning and modern development.
