Walking Club 17 July

We went on the #20 bus to Broadway Station and caught the Millenium train to New Westminister Quay.  Fraser Fest ( celebrate the river) 21st annual event was being held. We walked through the quay down the  broadwalk to see free exhibits and  bottles of  water from Boathouse restaurant and you could get salmon burger for $5.00.  As well Telus was giving our sunglasses.
It was good. we went on cruise on Paddlewheeler 9 the Native for $5.00, a 45 minute cruise on river New West side , beside the bridge, and  the the Surrey side around by Annacis Island. We walked along the quay  and came back and then went to Salvation army Thrift shop.  Looking for deals.
There were 7 ( Mimi,Jean, Linda, Odette, Marilyn, Ken, and susan ( we welcomed
her back to the walking group)
walked lead by Marilyn

The history and prosperity of the City of New Westminster is closely linked to the Fraser River. FraserFest celebrates one of the greatest salmon spawning rivers of the world. The Fraser Fest highlights the important role that the River played in the development of British Columbia and New Westminster, and the equally important role it still plays, as a port, as a highway for river commerce, and as a recreational resource.
